How To: Add a Title and Description to a Map
This tutorial provides step-by-step instructions to add a title and description to your map in Honeycomb Data Explorer. Watch the video or follow the step-by-step instructions below.
Prerequisites
- Access to Honeycomb Data Explorer
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Access the Components Menu
- Click "Edit Map" to open the sidebar
- Navigate to "Components"
- Click "Add Component"
2. Configure the Title Card
- Select component type:
- Default is "Title Card"
- Verify this is selected
- Choose positioning:
- Select "Left" for left-hand side placement
3. Add Title Content
- Enter your main title:
- Keep it clear and descriptive
- Example: "Austin Texas Delivery Dashboard"
- Add a subtitle:
- Provide context about the data or additional instructions about how to use the map dashboard
- Example: "This map shows deliveries made in the Austin area in the last 14 days"
4. Review and Finalize
- Check the positioning and spacing
- Close the sidebar to see the final result

Components are arranged on the map in the order they are created.
TIP
If you want to include additional explanatory text on your map dashboard, you can create another title card with an empty title. This will show text in the smaller description font only.
